What’s it like to travel the world with nothing but a backpack strapped to you like a jetpack and no one to depend on but yourself?
The answer: the greatest and most enjoyable learning experience of your life.
A backpackers manifesto:
You ride bikes, hop trains, take buses, fly planes.
You surf couches, crash in hostels, stay as guests in new friends homes.
You speak Itralian, Czech, French, German and Greek.
You see beauty everywhere in palaces, castles, parks and beaches.
You smell kebabs, crepes, mozarella and espresso.
You meet fellow backpackers from Australia, Finland, Sweden, Canada and Spain.
You drive on the other side of the road in the UK, you drive like a madman in Rome, you hold on for dear life on every bus you ride.
You learn to navigate the metrolines, the streets and your own personal path.
You seek sights, sounds and anywhere with free wifi.
You make friends who live all around the world, who you are sad to leave and who you truly look forward to seeing again.
You appreciate where you’ve been, where you are and where you’re going.
And you never “settle down”, because your spirit is always traveling.
